PRP is a natural product created from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube that is spun around in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma. This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP aka “Vampire Facial”.
Why Platelets Rejuvenate Skin?
Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, acts as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, naturally smoothes and tightens the skin, resulting in significant improvement of the quality of the skin condition. It is a simple, reliable and quick procedure which can be done during lunch time within 30 minutes. It is all natural, utilizing your own growth factors with no synthetic products or surgery. Your own blood does the job, this procedure does not cause bumps, lumps or irregularities.
The History of PRP
PRP has a long history of being used in orthopedic medicine, dentistry and reconstructive surgery, and now its benefits are being applied to other fields of medicine such as dermatology, skin wound healing, hair restoration and cosmetic facial rejuvenation. Scientific studies dating back 30 years have documented that PRP grows new collagen when injected into the skin, and newer studies show that PRP can soften sun damage and aging skin issues.
Facial Rejuvenation- The Results
The goal of PRP skin rejuvenation therapy is to improve skin tone and texture, tighten skin, soften lines and pores. Results begin to show 3-4 weeks after the treatment session and continue to improve with time. Three treatment sessions are generally recommended, spaced 1-2 months apart, to achieve the best outcome.
PRP therapy can be combined with laser treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Restylane, Juvederm, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and/or Dysport® to target a patient’s individual issues and achieve the final goal of younger looking skin. Maintenance PRP treatments should be given over time
Hair Restoration – The results
PRP is showing very good effects for hair loss and hair restoration. Our blood plasma (PRP) contains active growth factors which can promote hair growth. Helping to restore one’s confidence, the end result is a fuller, healthier looking head of hair.
To be effective against hair loss, PRP treatments must contain a high enough concentration of these essential growth factors and it must be delivered to the areas of the hair follicle where the stem cells are in the highest concentrations – at the middle and the base of the hair follicle. This requires an injection of a specific concentrated quality of PRP into the multiple layers of a scalp that has been properly anesthetized. When combined with the regenerating properties of stem cells in the follicles activate the growth centers to begin producing thicker, more robust hair, with an extended life cycle.
With a thin needle, your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. Then the growth factors in your blood cells do their job and hair growth is naturally stimulated. PRP Hair Restoration is suitable for both men and women. It is a state of the art, non surgical, totally natural, alternative medical procedure used for the treatment of hair loss or hair thinning. It is an injectable treatment which uses the patient’s own blood.
